Monday, Wednesday and Friday students participate in the RIGGS Phonics Pre-Reading program. The RIGGS system attempts to address all learning styles while teaching the phonograms in fun and entertaining ways. RIGGS Phonics students learn the sounds a letter makes (instead of b' is for boat) and to see, hear, say and print the phonogram.
Mon/Wed/Fri students can participate in activities that develop and challenge their problems solving, abstract reasoning, and fine-motor skills. These include variations on games like BINGO; matching and ordering games; cutting/gluing worksheets; special cooking and baking days.
